One of the best things about being a college student in Philadelphia is that the city has so many great attractions and sites to offer. There are lists of Philly favorites that college students adore. The top museums include: Philadelphia Museum of Art (free the first Sunday of the month), The Franklin Institute, Mutter Museum, and Academy of Natural Sciences. In addition, Philadelphia is home to many outstanding outdoor attractions. Fairmount Park is one of the world’s largest city parks. The western portion is home to the indoor/outdoor Mann Music Center and the Philadelphia Zoo. Penn’s Landing is the home to free summer concerts, winter ice skating, and year round fireworks! Longwood Gardens is a sensational 1000 acre showplace of natural beauty located in Kennett Square. The holiday season brings special attractions and exhibits to the garden. Night life does not get much better then Philadelphia. South Street, located between Front and Seventh Streets is filled of stores and restaurants that are attractions within themselves. Avenue of the Arts is home to the opera, ballet, and world famous Philadelphia Orchestra. The first Friday in Old City is always a fun night because many of the cities galleries stay open late. Chinatown is not only a fabulous place for late night food, it serves as one of the best places to take in a rock concert. 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, Pat’s and Geno’s battles for the best cheesesteaks in Philly. So it does not matter what you are looking for or what time you are out, the city of Philadelphia is the place to be.
